Highest Grossing Movies of 2010

In the previous year we saw some of the best movie releases. They had a perfect blend of action, romance, comedy, animation and drama. Hollywood made a lot of money last year, With many big budget films hitting the screens, And it's a great miracle that almost every big film worked and collected lots of great movie reviews.Now we are going to be know about the highest grossing movies of 2010.

We have to agree that 2010 had a pretty decent run on animation films. Here are the names of the movies which can rightly be called the highest grossing movies of 2010. 

TOY STORY 3:

Toy Story is one of the most successful movie franchises of all time. It is the threequel which was shot in 3-D and grossed over $1.1 billion and created as the highest grossing film in 2010 at the box office. It was directed by Lee Unkrich. The film was produced by Pixar and released by Walt Disney Pictures worldwide on June 18 of 2010 in Disney Digital 3-D, RealD nad IMAX 3D. "Toy Story 3" was the first film to be released theatrically with 7.1 surround sound.

"Toy Story 3" had created many milestones

(1) It is the first ever animated film in history to make over $1 billion worldwide.

(2)It is the first animated film to be placed currently at the 5th highest-grossing film of all time. Because no animation film had occupied in top 10 list until now .

(3)It has become the third animated film in history to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture, after "Beauty and the Beast" and "Up" .

(4)It is the animated film to be nominated for 5 academy awards including best picture


ALICE IN WONDERLAND:

"Alice In Wonderland" is an fantasy adventure film directed by Tim Burton. The film is inspired by Lewis Carroll's 1871 fantasy novel "Through the Looking-Glass", the sequel to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The film is released by Walt Disney Pictures worldwide on march 5, 2010.

(1) "Alice in Wonderland" was the second highest grossing film of 2010 with a collection of $1 billion.

(2) It stands at #6 after Toy Story 3 which stands tall at #5 in all time highest gross collected films.

(3) It is nominated for 3 categories in 83th academy awards 0f 2010 (Best Art Direction, Best Costume Design and Best Visual Effects).

INCEPTION:

Inception is an science fiction film, which was written, produced, and directed by the master filmmaker, Christopher Nolan and Leonardo Dicaprio as the protagonist. It's one of the few big budget films which released without 3D and still this film managed to earn more than $800 million.

(1) After the great reputation and success with "The Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan helped the film to secure $100 million in advertising expenditure.

(2) Christopher Nolan wrote an 80-page Treatment about dream-stealer, presenting this idea to Warner Bros. The film story was originally envisioned and inspired by concepts of lucid dreaming and dream incubation.

(3) The film "Inception" had  received 8 academy award nominations, including Best Picture, Original Screenplay and Cinematography.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 

Harry potter and deathly hallows is the (1st part) last part of the Harry Potter movie franchise was a big hit in the US and abroad grossing over $800 million. The film is directed by David Yates and  produced by J.K.Rowling along with David Heyman and David Barron released on Nov 18, 2010 presented in 3-D.

(1) Harry Potter and the deathly hallows is gonna be the last chapter of the series which is presented in 2 parts. deathly hallows part 2 is going to release this year 2011 july 15.

(2) It is nominated for oscar in Best Visual Effects.

(3) Hp-7 part 1 is one of the highest grossing film in 2010 and lined into 10th place of highest grossing film of all time.

Shrek Forever After:

"Sherk Forever After" is the fourth installment in the popular Shrek franchise and this one also minted money like its predecessors. It grossed around $739.8 million and it's one of the best animation movie  ever made. The film is directed by Mike Mitchell and released by Dream Works Animations on May 21, 2010. It grossed around $739.8 million.

"Shrek Forever After" is DreamWorks Animation's highest-grossing film at the foreign box office.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse:

Eclipse is the third film in Summit Entertainment's blockbuster movie "Twilight". The Film is directed by David Slade and released on June 30, 2010. It grossed more than $600 million worldwide. The Plot of the film is the time where vampires and werewolves join hands to save Bella(Kristen Stewart) from the raging anger of Victoria. The Final part "Twilight Breaking  Dawn" began shooting in November 2010 and will be released on November 16, 2012.




IRON MAN 2:

Iron Man 2 is the sequel to 2008's "Iron Man". The film is directed by Jon Favreau and Starring Robert Downey Jr. who reprises role as  Tony Stark. Iron  Man 2 is Produced by Marvel studios and released by Paramount Pictures on May 7, 2010. It had grossed $623 millions worldwide.


DESPICABLE ME:

Despicable Me is a computer-animated 3D comedy film from Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment that was released on July 9, 2010. It is the first CGI feature produced by Universal, in association with its Illumination Entertainment division. It was entirely animated in the French studio Mac Guff in Paris, France. It grossed $545 million worldwide, against a budget of $69 million.




TANGLED:

Tangled is the 50th animated film from the Walt Disney Animated Classics series. It is a musical animated film directed by Nathan Greno and Buron Howard and voices by Mandy moore, Zachary Levi and Donna Murphy. It had Grossed $503 million worldwide.




HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON :

"How To Train Your Dragon" is Produced by Dream Work Animations based on the 2003 book of same name. The film is directed by Chris Sanders and Dean De Blois and the voices given by  the stars Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, T.J. Miller, Kristen Wiig, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. The film is released on March 26, 2010 and grossed $500 millions worldwide.
